Parents
Parents are the first teachers of their children.
We think of teachers as parents at school and parents as teachers at home.
Teacher – Parent partnership in the learning process in school is therefore for a child’s performance in school, as many studies have confirmed. We strive to partner with our students’ parents at every opportunity.
Some initiatives involving parent participation and interaction are:
New Parent Orientation
New parents attend orientation programmes at the beginning of each academic year to understand school’s expectations and practices.
Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs)
A Parent Teacher meet for LKG to Grade IX was held in January 2020. The main objective of the meeting was to create a common platform, where teachers and parents come together to discuss student’s performance and devise ways to enrich their learning experience.
Our Chairman Mr. V. AchuthanNagasundar and our Vice Chairman Mrs.Kavitha Achuthan along with our Principal Mr. S. Ganapathy, welcomed all parents and gave inaugural speech and introduced all our teachers concerned, which was followed by refreshments.
Report cards and Answer sheets were shown to parents and teachers noted the suggestions given by parents. Handouts were personally given to each parent to enlighten them about vision, mission, core values and objectives. The parents gave a very positive feedback regarding the activities and facilities provided by the school.
The meeting helped to create better understanding between parents and build harmonious relationship between the school and the community. The PTM came to an end with the conclusion that the overall betterment of the students depends on the joint efforts of both parents and teachers.
Parent Volunteers
Parents are invited to be part of school events and performances. Parents contribute their artworks for display during an art exhibition. They volunteer during cultural performances for event management/student make-up/choreography and participate in field trips.
